PurpleHull Harvest Flea Market Saturday, October 27

In addition to its tradition late June festival, the Emerson PurpleHull Pea Festival will hold an autumn event this year.

The PurpleHull Harvest Flea Market will be held Saturday, October 27, beginning at 7:00 a.m., in the open area near Emerson City Hall.

“The idea is simple,” said Bill Dailey, spokesman for the festival.  “The event is open to any and everyone one who wants to sell anything – as long as it’s legal.  Whether you’re selling food, flea market items, whatever, everyone will get a 12 by 16 foot space to sell whatever they wish for $15.”

The event will last as long as there are individuals or vendors still present. Please bring your own tables.  Electricity, if needed, will be provided.

Anyone interested in participating should just show up near Emerson City Hall the morning of October 27. No pre-registration is necessary.

“We’ve done this in years past, and we’re reviving it again this year,” said Dailey.  “It was always a fun event the years we had good weather.”

For more information, phone either Mildred Beene at (870) 547-2707, or Frances Burns at (870) 547-2893.  Information may also be obtained by going to the festival’s Web site: www.purplehull.com, or by emailing: purplehull@juno.com.

The PurpleHull Pea Festival is endeavoring to raise funds for the purchase of property to develop a park.  Presently there is no such facility in Emerson.
